Smoothie Recipes from Lindsay

As a vegan I get asked all the time about what I eat and where I get my protein. Smoothies are an easy way to get fruits, vegetables, and protein all at once. I have a Vitamix blender which is a powerful machine that could practically blend rocks into a smoothie. I love it! In addition to smoothies, I can make nut butters, nut milks, soups, & even grind coffee and grains. You don’t have to have a super high powered blender to make good smoothies though; a normal one will do fine. Here’s a few of my favorite recipes that I make for breakfast or post-workout.

Orange Ginger Protein Smoothie
½ banana
1 orange
1 scoop vegan vanilla protein powder (I use sunwarrior, or vega)
1 cup almond or soy milk
1 inch ginger root
2-4 kale leaves
5 ice cubes

Coffee Protein Smoothie
½ cup almond milk
½ cup cold brew coffee, or 2 shots espresso
1 scoop vegan vanilla protein powder
1 banana
1 tablespoon raw cacao powder
5 ice cubes

Blueberry Hemp Smoothie
½ cup frozen blueberries
½ banana
1 cup almond milk
½ scoop vanilla protein
½ serving hemp protein
2-4 kale leaves
