Why you became a Vegan:  I became vegan because I think animals have a right to live their own lives for themselves, to be free and to feel, to nurture and to love as they need to and we have no right to mess with that for our own purposes.

History Competing: I competed in the Northeast Iron Beast Competition in 2016 and am planning on competing in the NYS Championships this fall (2016), both in Latham, NY.

What drives you to compete:   I love lifting heavy weights because it is empowering and I love to constantly outdo myself.  I also love showing people that you can be super strong and badass without eating animals.

What do you see as the biggest advantages of being a vegan athlete:   I have a faster recovery rate than my non-vegan counterparts.   It’s also awesome to be a part of something larger than myself.

What types of supplements if any do you use?:  Vega Protein powder, Glucosamine & MSM (arthritis runs in my family), Orgain Electrolyte powder

How would you describe your diet while preparing for a competition:  I eat lots of sweet potatoes, tofu, and greens.

Favorite food in your prep diet:  Leapin Lemurs cereal with vanilla rice protein milk, chia seeds, Sunbutter and fresh strawberries

How would you describe your training for a competition:   Following my program, eating enough and getting enough nutrients, making sure I rest adequately.

Favorite exercises:   Deadlifts, squats, bench, rows (any kind)

How many hours a week do you spend training?:  about 7-8 hours

Today I am most proud of:  Taking large leaps of faith in business and life and constantly impressing myself in the process while being able to reflect on those experiences in a positive manner.
