What drives you to compete: To legitimize being a musclebound beast to the vegans, and legitimize being a vegan to the musclebound beasts.
What do you see as the biggest advantages of being a vegan athlete: Knowing that years of my performance dieting won’t result in a saggy, dilapidated, cholesterol-clogged body (like most meat-heavy bodybuilding diets will).
What types of supplements if any do you use?:
Current Preworkout: Lit-Up
Current Protein: N.O.W. Tru-Food Vegan and Vega One
How would you describe your diet while preparing for a competition: All meals I eat are on my http://www.herbivoreathletics.
Favorite food in your prep diet: Tofurky Italian Sausage
How would you describe your training for a competition: To get on stage, 12 weeks of miserable dieting to get my BF% way lower than usual, but to do CF I will maintain a high carbohydrate intake to fuel my intense workouts right up until the competition.
Favorite exercises: Everything pertaining to CF that I wasn’t able to do correctly last year, including: Double-Unders, Muscle-Ups, Toe-to-Bars, L-Sits, Squat Snatches, Clean and Jerks, Handstand Walks
Strongest Skills: Rope Climbs and Toe-to-Bars
How many hours a week do you spend training?: I teach three cardio kickboxing classes a week at a family-friendly gym called Toadal Fitness, and train for one hour six times a week at CF West Santa Cruz.
Today I am most proud of: Being an honorable adult, teacher, instructor, blue-collar worker and natural athlete, all the while infiltrating each of these lifestyles with unapologetic vegan and straight edge principles.
