Why you became a Vegan:

I became a vegan for many reasons. My main reason for choosing veganism a lifestyle is for spiritually reasons. I am a Rastafarian and in the Rastafarian spirituality/culture the majority of people are vegan or vegetarian. In Rastafarian spirituality we believe that your body is a temple and death should not enter your temple (meat/animal flesh is death).
I also became a vegan for moral, ethical reasons.

What drives you to compete:

The constant challenge to better myself as an individual and to inspire others. A major reason I compete it give me an opportunity to get my veganism message across to the mass and to also prove to meat eater competitors vegans can hold their own against anyone and doing it cruelty free.

What do you see as the biggest advantages of being a vegan athlete:

The biggest advantages of being a vegan athlete are that you can get same results as a meat eater if not better in a cruelty free manner. Recovery time is much better and strength gains come much faster.

How would you describe your diet while preparing for a competition:

It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. My intake nutritional plan is pretty much the same year round I just adjust to reach my lifestyle/fitness goals.

Favorite food in your prep diet: Asparagus

How would you describe your training for a competition:

High volume heavy as possible with some supersets/drop sets (very intense)
Cardio- Stairmaster, wind sprints, HIIT

Favorite exercises:

Straight leg Deadlifts
Rack Pulls
Bent-over rows
Seated rows
Lat pull-downs
One-arm dumbbell rows

How many hours a week do you spend training?:

I spend about 10- 12 (on season/prep) 4-6 (off season) hours a week training.

Today I am most proud of:

The birth of my two daughters who give me strength through everything in life to get up on stage and representing veganism and inspiring other to make a positive lifestyle change/choice to benefit earthlings worldwide.
