We’ve all heard the typical “reasons” people don’t go to the gym to workout. Time is the most common one I hear. But really? We all have the same time in a day and we tend to make time for whatever matters to us whether it’s television viewing or social networking or whatnot. Recently, though, a woman told me she wanted to do a physique competition but had a toddler and wouldn’t be able to train while her daughter was young. I was quick to pull out my phone and show her the picture of my 2 and 3 year old children and say “I’ve done 3 shows so far. I’m able to exercise whenever the childcare at the gym is available.” Boom! Problem solved.
As you might imagine, in addition to everything else, my day is spent dressing my daughters, feeding them multiple meals, and most of all, trying to clean up them and all their messes. Despite all this, most days we make it to the gym for a workout. So if I can make time to bodybuild, nearly anyone can make time to lift weights!
More challenging hurdles may come your way. But with just a little creative thinking, nearly every problem can become an opportunity to find a solution. If you truly want something, you’ll work hard to make it happen. Yes, it takes dedication and hard work, but where there’s a will, there’s a way. What are your goals and how do you plan to make them attainable?
