Why you became a Vegan: Health, Performance, Ethics

History Competing: my first experience competing was 2014 with team PlantBuilt.

What drives you to compete: To be part of something that shines a bright beautiful strong light on veganism like Plant Built has done.To prove all the myths wrong that people have about Vegans when it comes to being strong and building muscle. To inspire, educate, and motivate. To challenge myself body/mind. I see myself, my body as a vessel for veganism. This is not only something I enjoy, it is something I MUST do.

What do you see as the biggest advantages of being a vegan athlete: Keeping my body and mind pure. Being vegan causes me to push myself harder because I am not doing this only for myself. I am training for the purpose to end suffering of animals. I train for a bigger purpose. I recover faster and have lots of energy from my clean nutrition.

What types of supplements if any do you use?: Hemp protein, RawFusion Protein, Cell Block 80.

How would you describe your diet while preparing for a competition: MUSTARD LOTS OF MUSTARD. Lentils, broccoli, sprouted organic tofu, fruit, WATER…I do not eat hardly any processed products…did I say mustard?

Favorite food in your prep diet: Purple Japanese sweet potato and asparagus.

How would you describe your training for a competition: I lift heavy 6 days a week. Limited cardio if any…I do HIIT or rowing.

Favorite exercises: Olympic Lifts, Jump Rope, anything outdoors like snowboarding, hiking, Nordic skiing

How many hours a week do you spend training?: with all the activities I do I would say an average of 15-20  Today I am most proud of: This journey I am on. I am proud of TODAY. I am proud I have been selected to be a part of this team…this movement of strong Vegans. I’ve struggled with injuries, health issues, addiction, and Veganism has been a catalyst to  totally change my life…over come and be stronger…I have become aware of what matters most to me and stand strong in those truths and am always learning more and forever evolving.
